Radical Inclusion
Anyone may participate in the FASTEST PIZZA STAND. We welcome and respect the stranger. No prerequisites exist for participation in our community. We actively work to combat racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia and any other structural biases that exist within the burning man community and out in the wider world.
Gifting
FASTEST PIZZA STAND is devoted to acts of gifting pizza. The value of our pizza gift is unconditional. Gifting pizza does not contemplate a return or an exchange.
Decommodification
In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, FASTEST PIZZA STAND seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect our pizza culture from such exploitation. We are consumers only of pizza, with your preferred toppings, as participatory experience.
Radical Self-reliance
FASTEST PIZZA STAND encourages each pizza technologist to discover, exercise and rely on their inner resources to participate in the making and gifting of our pizza offerings.
Radical Self-expression
Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. No one other than the individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others. In this spirit, FASTEST PIZZA STAND respects the rights and liberties of the (potential) pizza recipient.
Communal Effort
FASTEST PIZZA STAND values creative cooperation and collaboration in making and eating pizza. We strive to produce, promote and protect social networks, public spaces, works of art, and methods of communication that support interaction that never requires a shift schedule.
Civic Responsibility
We value civil society. FASTEST PIZZA STAND assumes responsibility for public welfare and endeavors to communicate civic responsibilities to participants inside of and outside of our camp.
Leaving No Trace
FASTEST PIZZA STAND respects the environment. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than they were before we made pizza.
Participation
FASTEST PIZZA STAND is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal pizza participation. We achieve pizza through doing. Everyone is invited to make pizza. Everyone is invited to eat pizza. We make the world real through pizza that opens the heart.
Immediacy
Immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important touchstone of value at FASTEST PIZZA STAND. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, participation in making pizza, and contact with a natural world exceeding human powers. No idea can substitute for this experience.
